Far Cry 3 is actually in the top 5 GOTY's this year by critics. It's fighting Journey and Borderlands 2 for the 2nd spot (They all have 11 awards) whereas Halo is in a distant number 8 spot.
It's also 1 award ahead of Halo 4 on best shooter of 2012 AND currently tied for Best Graphics with it even xD. Still many more to come but yeah, its a close one.
