It's a great piece of hardware. Too bad the games have not lived up to the hype (AC and CoD). First party games have been a hit and miss (Uncharted and Gravity Rush are good, while ModNationRacers and Resistance were mediocre). Software wise, next year will either make or break the Vita.
Sales wise, its mediocre at best. 2m Vitas sold in all regions by the end of the year would have been a great target, but instead it's going to end up at ~1.3m. A price cut is inevitable and perhaps even a starting bundle at $199 would be needed as well. An entry level $179 bundle should be the scenario next year though.
