Metroid Prime for Wii U Focus on exploring 2-3 different planets with more regions and interconnectivity than previous entries. I should never be forced to use my ship to fly to a different area on the same planet. There should be at least two land-based entrances/exits. Moar backtracking. Metroid without the best backtracking in the industy... is not Metroid. Total focus on providing an atmospheric experience, not a cinematic one. The former is far more realistic and immersive. Keep the story optional. I only need to know my motivation to progress. Everything else can be regulated to well-written objects scans. Remember - this is a game for Metroid fans, not Halo fans. Outside of puzzling boss battles, combat should rarely be forced on the player. Motion controls = optional. Keep beam stacking. Beams are fine just being glorified keys. For combat, other element-based attacks (like ice missiles) are a suitable substitute. Many revisions given to the Grapple Beam, Spider Ball, and Screw Attack abilities. Quit the chatter. Only a few key characters should have speaking roles (a la Metroid Prime 2), and none of them are Samus.

Soo, you basically are talking about a mix of Metroid Prime 1 and Super Metroid? Great Idea, I really would like to see this happen :D

The idea is to bring together the best aspects of the three Metroid Prime games. But yes, it would end up somewhere between Prime and Super in terms of design.
