Apple releases new phone, sells a bazillion phones as hipsters rush out to own the latest and greatest phone, and Apple's marketshare increases dramatically for 1 quarter; over the next 3 quarters, a variety of Android phones are produced by countless manufacturers to meet the needs of individuals throughout the entire market and Android's marketshare slowly climbs to a new high.

Nope, Android is dying.

You do realize that it hit 72% marketshare last quarter worldwide, right?

I keep hearing that Android is either dying or hit a plateau, but its marketshare has only gone up. Its the same old song and dance from the iOS apologists.

I'm going to hold out for a more reliable analyst such as Gartner before making any sort of mis-informed judgment about the smartphone race.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
