You can do the boost yourself on a PSP by installing CFW on the PSP then in the recovery menu you now have access to swapping the CPU speed to 333mhz instead of 222mhz.

The PSP was downclocked for most games to 222mhz, it was capable and used 333mhz speed for a few of the later 1st party releases.
