It seems that WiiU, when fab and die size is taken into account, has between 352 and 528 GFLOPS (320 to 480 shaders@550MHz). Initial NextBox rumours were some 6x as 360, later rumours are 8x 360, which would be 1440 and 1920 GFLOPS respectively, if they took GFLOPS as comparison (that would be 7770 GHz Edition and 7870/7970m@750).


Power constraints would mean that a 7950/7970 derevative would be unlikely. But then the Xbox 360 was based on the following generation's GPU from ATI which hadn't been released at the time.

So, power requirements Vs performance will be lowered as per standard for all GPUs over generations.

My bet's on a cut down 8xxxx desktop design.

Mobile chips are aimed at the seriously power starved laptop platform, the next Xbox 360 and PS will easily be able to handle a TDP of 125W for the graphics card. Going for a mobile derevative simply isn't needed.
