To be honest I think the worlds of Final Fantasy VI had much more of an intricate, unwritten story than final fantasy IV, (just to have something to compare to). They are more intricate, but there is so much more unwritten as well. Examples are Terra, Shadow, Setzer. It has been a long time since I last played, but these characters have so much pent up backstory when they tell their stories or when their stories are told. And each character is so very different from another. They also seem more rooted in our reality than those in FFIV for instance. |
I understand what you're saying but being more intricate than the characters of FFIV doesn't make them intricate. That would be like saying that because Luigi is more developed than Mario that he is a well developed character. It's simply that there are no intricate characters present in any Final Fantasy.
