Depends on why you buy this laptop. If it is for gaming, yeah the thing will probably be bad from the very beginning, but if you buy a laptop for let's say just using the internet and run some school applications a laptop will probably satisfy your needs for a very long time.

Still people who buy tablets every year are because of consumerism, not because they really need it. He's also compering consoles to tablets/laptops which is kinda irrelevant because people do not buy those gadgets for gaming.
