Had the same discussion with the wife yesterday. She's adamant that shooter games are horrible and partly responsible for these murders.
My points... well they are rated for adults. Additionally, they are no different than the many movies, tv shows, books, and theatrical plays have done for generations or centuries before. Point is, it takes parents to know what is and is not appropriate for their kids and even then to ensure that they are still taught the value of life and to have empathy for their fellow man. But blaming massacres and murders on something seen in any form of media is simply naive and a scapegoat for the real world problems we have as a society.
I almost beat her that day. After all, that's what I learned from Godfather.
