Microsoft financials should tell the whole story, i think W8 did pretty good, not sure if better than W7 but W7 was a monster wont be easy to match its 700m sales, yet if it sells 500-600m that stills a huge success, people with Windows over the World is still rising up. Many milions with XP,7 and 8. If we join all of them there are way over 1 Bilion people using Windows, probably 2 bilion. That original! The rest of the world is using pirate copies.
WP is also picking up and should beat iOS by 2016 in market share but still behind Android wich sells at 19euros some phones here LOL Only Reason is on Top.
