Doubt it. If anything, next Vitas will be made cheaper and simpler. Just compare PS3: Fat > Slim > Super Slim. They need to compete with a much cheaper rival. Vita is a top quality powerhouse now and it's not selling. Increasing the quality just doesn't seem to be the right way for Vita. Plus I really think the battery is ok.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
