Part of the reason I suggest using newegg is that they have a good return policy that applies to all of their merchandise but also because they are consistently among the cheapest options and frequently have free shipping on items. When there isn't free shipping their rates are quite reasonable compared to other sites that sucker you in with the price and slap you with big fees for shipping etc..
On the topic of RAM I think you should be fine with anything DDR2 800 CAS 5, so long as you get something with a lifetime warranty. The best manufacturers IMO are Corsair, Kingston, Buffalo, and A-Data. I've heard good things about G-Skill also but have no personal experience with them.
