9/11 gave us the Patriot Act
Californian shootings gave us the Federal Assault Weapons Ban
Archduke Ferdinand gave us World War 1
Any freedom can be taken away if someone, or a small group of people decide to do something stupid. Simply crack open the Bill of Rights and check off every one of them as being potentially endangered.
