To be honest, the only hope the Vita has is that Assassins creed liberation is doing well. But, it doesnt change the fact that even with a price-cut things mightnot improve much because you always have to add the memory card price to that. The system should never have used such expensive tech has it has. Totally disconnected from the real economy. |
Vita had relatively high costs at launch, but it uses mainstream integrated components (most are smartphone tech, while the rear touch panel is mainstream tech mostly used in notebook PCs, while sticks and button is the usual low tech found in portable consoles and in controllers for home consoles and PCs and also in many other devices) that drop in price quite fast. At launch the most advanced of all this stuff could be considered medium-high end, now they are quite mid-range, next year they will be mainstream. Thanks to avoiding chosing exotic tech, the high cost problem is destined to remain so only for the short time needed to drop enough in price.
