Why would Microsoft ever buy Sony? Sony is a loss making company with a diminishing market share, and its facing too much competition from companies like Samsung and LG. It doesn't even have good prospects for the future. I guess it just got too large.
Even if Microsoft only bought the gaming division of Sony, it would still be bad, cause that's division is still making big losses.
