Correct me if I am wrong, but overall crime statistics have been steadily declinging for the past 40 years in the US.
From the discussion how various crimes are categorized can distort or confuse data. I think our perception of crime plays a massive role in how we view society with the intensity of the present magnifying concerns.
On the topic, this is just so very sad and my thoughts are with the children and the families. I will never understand such senseless violence.
