Assuming that every single USA sale of the game came from a bundle (just to satisfy the nay-sayers in this thread), the game has sold 200k worldwide in all other regions. That puts it 80k below the best selling DS Assassin's Creed's lifetime sales, and 90k less than the same studio's previous game (Ghost Recon Shadow Wars).

Liberation sold 35k outside the USA last week, so given similar holiday sales for the remaining weeks, it'll pass the lifetime sales of both those games before next year. Any more sales after that would just be gravy.

So how do you measure success? Better than other handheld games of the same IP? Well it's about to do that without a single bundle sale (if it hasn't already), apart from Bloodlines for PSP - which I believe is horrendously overtracked, but I won't go there now.

Alternatively, do you measure it against the studio's previous work? Well, it'll surpass that at some point in the next few weeks too without a single bundle sale (if it hasn't already).

There's problems with this argument of course. Shadow Wars has had 18 months to sell, Liberation has had two. Assassin's Creed is the much bigger IP, but Vita is a much smaller userbase. We have no idea how many copies of Liberation have been sold without the bundle. A DS Assassin's Creed might not be comparable to a 3DS one.

So at the end of the day, best to Ubisoft is probably to take a bundle if Sony or Nintendo offer it. Or just don't develop handheld games at all. Or if they do, develop them for android and ios.
