Wasnt Sony paying for GTA timed exclusivity on the PS2?

Well it's just rumours, but gta was meant to be an exclusive for ps3, but microsft caught sony of gaurd and offered rockstar a deal they couldn't refuse, just one of the many mistakes sony did this gen.

The thing I find amusing about your statements is that GTA actually sold better on X360 and had a lot of exclusive content this generation.  Under the logics that you are using then every first party company is bribed with money because someone else owns them.......And this is the case.  This is hw businesses work, money.....So the claims you made sounded a little weird because every company does it.  Then the GTA rumor is just a rumor.  Most games went multiplat this gen because they make more money that way and frankly the 360 sells more software for many games.

You will eat that comment later on, we all know gta 4 has been selling better on the PS3 for a long time, and it's nearly about to catch up, and gta 5 will without a doubt sell the most on PS3.

*sigh* I'll eat my comment later?  So if GTA IV outsells the X360 version that changes the fact that X360 GTA IV has been successful on the 360?  That was my point at that 3rd party games does well on 360.  But you go ahead and hail sony, I'm glad the game has sold 19.5 million across both platforms and who knows how much on PC.  This just means the company is more successful selling across three platforms than 1 but yeah I'll eat my comment for pointing out a fact.

Talk about turning my comment around, and i never said gta turning into a multiplatform series was a bad thing "it was always one anyways" just saying it was sony's mistake letting it go "which it was"

Don't get so upset about it then by saying I'll eat my comment.  And yes it was a mistake on Sony's part but I doubt they ever had exclusive rights to GTA IV anyways.  At the most they would have got a timed axclusive which still would have been huge for Sony, but that would likely have been very expensive.  GTA IV has been successful on both platforms so everybody wins.

Well Pachter stated gta 4 was originally a PS3 Exclusive :P anways microsoft obviously used the time exclusive dlc to sway people to buy the 360 version of gta 4, will be interesting to see what happens with gta 5 considering there will most likely be no exclusive dlc what so ever.

Pachter lol  I don't understand why anybody even pays that guy.  I guess he does get a lot of hits on sites though.

My prediction for GTA V will be they will most likely be very even again.  It is pretty popular on both so I'd say it will be more front heavy for the 360 and the PS3 version will have better legs.  Lifetime they will be pretty even though unless a next gen console steps in which very well mught happen.
