ohh shit i ment if MS buy epic not gears!! im gonna edit my post
and its not about epic, its about unreal like you said, i doubt MS wouldnt do anything to how unreal is being handled, i think they would either make it exclusive or make it really or too expensive to develop on competing consoles. it would hurt too many studio's and sadly cripple the development of one of the best engines in the indusrty, it would harm the industery so much.
and i dont need to worry about argueing with you, you're one of the most sensable people on this site and you have a brad pit fight club avatar, your avatar makes you too awesome to argue with. its just other people on this site are willing to argue over anything, just look at the 8th of december numbers thread

Yeah it really would screw up the industry. One reason it is so good too is because it is cheap so about any company can use it because it keeps costs down while maintaining a good look. Hopefully the new Unreal Engine will be cheap too. I dont know if the Cryengie or Frostbite engine is cost effecient but they look nice too.
The first rule is we do not talk about.....lol

well from what i noticed frosbite has been exclusive to games that are published by EA, i dont know if that is the case or not though. but the most well spread and most used engine is unreal, and people have spent years using it and there for can handle it pretty good and make the best out of it. cryengine has been trying to take some market share from unreal from what i noticed as well, so if MS do buy epic and mess with unreal i think crytek would try to swoop in and replace unreal, but for a lot of devs it would take a lot of time learning cryengine when they could be making better games with the engine they know (unreal)
