I recently switched jobs to a company dedicated to mobile app development with a lot of gigantic customers, our current Window's 8 strategy is exactly the same as our Blackberry strategy ... My strategy was the same for Android when it came out.. And look what has happened over the years..it's developer support is growing at a bigger pace than iOS ( me included).
I believe within a year or so .. the market will be saturated to 50% Android and 25% each to iOS and Windows. and i see Windows as the overall winner because it still covers 90% of desktop market where Google and Apple dont exist. So learning Windows development will give you 25 % of mobile market share and 90% of desktop .. iOS will give you 25% of mobile market while android leaves you with 50% mobile market.
