 we need better gun control

Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

People with guns kill people. All we are asking is for tests to make sure you are mentally stable to own a gun.

that is already a requirement. you must pass a background check.

the only gun control i am in support of (as are almost all gun rights activists) is background checks to ensure people people who cannot own guns legally, dont get to buy them (so felons, and people who have been determined mentally unstable by doctors) if are background checks arent working, we need to improve them.

but that is the only gun restriction i support. you go to the store the owner calls up the BAFTE gives them your info, the look you up. You arent a felon, no doctors have deemed you mentally insane (mental defficiency or what ever). good to go.

How about a class? how to use it? Store it? Learn about what is the most common deaths from guns, You can teach people how to handle there guns and what steps they should take. Thats all I would want. Oh yea also a assault weapon ban. No need for that. You don't need to kill groups of people or whatever your doing with the gun.

while i advocate, and strongly urge any and all gun owners to be well trained. and i always recomend novices to take classes i dont think that should be a requirement. and i have taken several classes, they werent all that necessary for me, as i was already a very competent gun owner, shooter. and this goes for many gun owners, they grew up around guns, they know how to use them. kind of unrelated but i assume you think voter ID is a pole tax, well for me mandantory gun classes are a poll tax of sorts.

as an aside, a gun training class is required to get a conceal carry license in all but 3 states.

i wish school tought basic safe gun handling to students (not necessarly shooting classes, but like for younger kids, if you see a gun, dont touch it, and immediately tell an adult, when the get older, never, never ever point a gun at somebody, also check to see if the gun is unloaded, even if you think and or have checked to ensure its unloaded always treat a gun as if it were load. only point a gun at a somethin you are willing to destroy. meaning pointing at a wall, whats beyond the wall are there people in the other room. i wish school would teach kids that stuff, not to fear guns, but to respect them.)

as for your want for an assualt weapons bans. i curious, what do you consider an assault weapon.

Also remember docter patient privacy is big deal, meaning before you get your gun you should have to give them all rights to look into you mental condition. The Movie theater shooting would have been avoided if this was possible. The kid had major issues and the doctor couldn't put that out because of doctor patient privacy, which I think is a good thing but if you want a gun. Well you have to hand all that over or you don't get a gun.

I suggest you look into the Colorado movie theater shooting. The kid was seeing doctors and councelors. How did this fly under the rader if your so sure are laws are fine. THats the point they are not and you know it.
