Yes... if they can all deliver high quality content at a reasonable price. The idea of a console is outdated anyways. We have soooo many healthy game ecosystems already: PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, iOS, Android, Facebook... and the list goes on

I wouldn't consider IOS, Android, Facebook consoles.  I see a lot of people talking about that kind of stuff on this website but lets face it, you don't buy IOS or Android products for gaming.  They're in the mobile market not the console market.  Just because they have games does not mean they're competing.

While tablets are primarily used for games (66% of all use according to studies) you are correct that people aren't buying them as a gaming device, per se.  However, considering the volume of tablets sold and 66% of their useage is gaming - that's a massive competitor in the gaming field.

Moreover with Ouya, Wikipad, Archos and the like all coming onto the market, all those will be dedicated (or primary) gaming devices with a ton of dedicated content.  Even major console publishers are developing for these systems. They will likely appeal more to lower end/casual or portable consumers, but that's still marketshare lost to the traditional 3.   Probably mostly to Nintendo and MS.

We still know too little about Valves plans to guage any impact.

Also, with Smart TVs now becoming the norm, cloud gaming could make major inroads as well.   This next gen will look nothing like previous gens.  The market has expanded and diversified to a level we've not seen before.
