Like a GPS unit with voice. That's the reason why they had to roll their own.

googlemaps does that. they have turn by turn navigation with voice, or a map, or you can read step by step

I didn't get spoken commands until iOS 6 on my iPad 2.

guess i was wrong. turn by turn was android "exclusive." they didn't have it on apple devices.
