"you missed the entire point of my post..."

there was a point?

"Secondly, the red rings argument is old and outdated as the issue is shrinking over time."

If you buy a new one it is correct that the issue is taking a step back from outrageous to just bad. But for the 15mio 360 owners who already have one of these time-bombs the situation is not so nice. We make buggy products should be the Microsoft motto. They did it for software now they do it for hardware.

Seriously the 360 has great games and the core chips that were developed by AMD and IBM are pretty awesome. They shipped one year before the PS3 and are still able to compete well with it graphically. I would also give MS the thumps-up for their game development tools(according to developers) and internet services.

On the other hand everything hardware related MS did themselves (quality control, the case ...) has been awful beyond words. Scratched discs, crappy power brick, noisy console, RRoD. Even a MS fanboy should be able to concede this. Both consoles have clear advantages.
