Dragon's Lair was great for it's time.

It invented the quick time event and still looks great.

I could go off about his choice of Wii Sports as well, but what's the point? Everyone knows that it's great at what it does, though some won't admit it.

Inventing the quick time event is hardly something you'd want to brag about.

It was a big deal at the time.  You had to move up, down, left, right, or press the sword button at the precise moment in order to get the I am continuing in the game animation.  If not, you would die a miserable death.  It didn't display the button that you have to press on the screen like the more modern games.

Have you ever played Dragon's Lair?  It was animated by Don Bluth, one of the top animators at the time.

I'm not one for quicktime event based games, but I still see Dragon's Lair as a keystone in videogames history due to the fact that it's one of the first that introduced the potential for other industries, such as animation, to heavily invest some effort into videogames.
