The backstab animation is what is lagged, you aren't being backstabbed when you're 90 feet from someone. It's just finally rendering the animation on your screen so it has to put you back to where the stab occurred. The actual backstab is taking place earlier.
That video is really messed up. I imagine they actually did lagout for a bit in order for that to occur. Wireless does this. This case is not normal lol, but yeah that would be incredibly annoying.
