Why the huge success of PS360 will hurt all next-gen consoles, not just Wii U

@OP yes? like xbox 360, PS3 and wii were hurt by the huge success of PS2? each generation its the same all over again... the old ones start to sell poorly and the new ones are much more expensive but people buy them because the old ones were, how can i say this, OLD.

Tablets (and any multi-purpose piece of electronics) hold more value for mass consumer compared against more or less dedicated game consoles, which are more likely to be exluded from family budget if there're constrains.

Since I do not expect people to spend more on gaming (adjusted for inflation), chances are next generation indeed might have problems selling at all, unless it's cheap or will immensely raise its value for consumer in some way.
