The Most Overrated Games (Ars Technica)

This is such a weird list.

Are these overrated in terms of popular appeal, or in terms of critics' scores? There doesn't seem to be much science to this list.

With some of these games, I think it would be impossible to claim they're overrated. I mean, Wii Sports has a 76 on Metacritic. Not exactly stellar. And no one could doubt the impact it had on the industry.

I can only speak for the games I've played -- Gears of War, Halo, Wii Sports, and Twilight Princess -- but none of them are overrated. Gears is arguably the best third-person shooter ever made, Halo is the game of the decade, Wii Sports was a revolution, and Twilight Princess is a masterwork.
