Vita has the WOW factor working for it. I'm incredibly impressed by how advanced and well built this console is. It's just flawless. Even my dad, who hates games and gaming, said he was very impressed with it. He even said he likes it much more than my PS3. The moment you take it to your hands you're gonna think "WOW", it's just that good. 3DS is a toy. The Vita feels like something more. It really is a high tech device.
Additionally the 2 analogs feel much better than I thought they would. I didn't think they would work this well on a handheld.
Also the online service on Vita is better than the PS3 shop. It's so smooth, intuitive and has some nice content. You can count on some special offers there (especially if you're a PS+ subscriber). Right now Rayman Origins costs $13 - that's almost a steal! I doubt 3DS will ever have such a vibrant and interesting online service.
People say that they want a different experience on a handheld than they want on a home console. Ok, I like the different type of games I played on my DSi, but when I play Uncharted or Gravity Rush I feel that this is so awesome and that I do want to play such games on my handhelds. That's why I won't be getting a 3DS anytime soon. I'd rather buy a few good PSV games, which I still don't own. Sony's console is perfect for me. The more expensive games are serious positions like Uncharted, Assassins Creed, etc., while the more casual, handheld games I can download cheaper online. This is so much better than having to buy all games in a store and having to pay a lot for all games.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/
My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
