I'm going to write a strange analogy, but I think it gets my point across. For some of the issues anyways.
Let's say a guy comes to your house every day and gives you a bag of candy. It's very good candy and you're happy to have it. However, every day you hear that the same guy goes to other people's houses and shits on their porches. These people also know you're friends with the guy, so they make generalizations about you because of this. Now, you may very well be thankful for all the candy he's been giving you, but you can also be pissed that he keeps shitting on people's porches and tarnishing your reputation.
Also, something about personal rights and tanking economies. :P
