First of all, I´ve been out of the loop when it comes to JRPGs for a long time, so the "still grim?" is just an assumption based on the little I´ve seen and read on gaming sites, don´t know how correct it is.

So, I used to love JRPGs back in the days of the SNES and PS1 (Chrono Trigger, FFVI, FFVII and Xenogears my absolute favorites), but right after FFX (PS2, released in 2001) I drifted away from the genre completely, and ever since the 7th generation started, I found myself starting to really enjoy WRPGs..not only that, but for the first time ever, my library of games is made up, in its vast majority, of Western games.

Now, I got Lost Odyssey for the 360 a few months ago but still haven´t even touched it, plan to do so next month, and heard nothing but praise for Xenoblade.

Anyway, like I said in the first paragraph, I´ve been out of touch with anything related to JRPGs for a long time (except SquareEnix is still shit?), so for someone who doesn´t like handhelds and only plays on home consoles, have WRPGs completely taken over?...is there a really promising JRPG coming?
