So you think that they are not competing in sales or what?

To an extent of course its competing, but I would very confidently bet that a large portion of the 400k or so Wii U's that have been sold, have been bought by people who've already invested in current gen systems. A new 360 bundle (regardless of how cheap it is), does not compete for the dolloars of a individual who already owns a Xbox 360. When the Xbox360 launched, for the most part it was not competing with the ps2 for sales. Most people that own a 360 in North America today probably also owned ps2. Its part of the logic of how console cycles work, hardware reach satuation levels and new hardware is released for those users to now adopt. Thats one of the major concerns people have raised with the Wii U, Nintendo hasn't effectively positioned it as a successor to ps3/360, nor have they really pushed it down its own lane like the wii.
But for new markets (kids/uniformed casual gamers maybe), then yes it is a competing product and the 360+kinect maybe more enticing then wii U+ Wii U pad.

I'd argue that not many PS3/360 owners have bought Wii U. At the moment, all that Wii U offers for those people are Nintendo games. If someone buys a console for nintendo games, he already owns a wii. So, the people who have already invested in current gen systems are most likely to be wii owners. For a lot of wii owners, PS360 were never competing with wii. But when it comes to non-nintendo fan, PS360 offer a lot compared to what Wii U offers at the moment. Especially when those people count bang for the buck.

I agree that not many PS3/360 owners have a bought Wii U (its only been out for a week lol), buts that makes a different point from what I'm trying to say. The question I'm asking is how many Wii U owners have a Ps3/360. I'd say a lot, probably over 80%. I'm saying that when they made that purchase, the console they already had at home was in no way acting as a competing product; this is the audience that will be responsible for the systems success. Otherwise all they have is late adopters (the minority) to fight for and kids. Naturally because of the size of HD console market, Nintendo aim should to win over the current ps3/360 market ( a fair portion of whom probably also own wii's). It merely speculation in regards to the demographics, so I won't drag this out or present my opinion as fact.
