Don't mind the layout. My guess is people are just complaining about it for attention, or are allergic to change.
I have one feature complaint though. Why would they remove the ability to show only uploaded videos from subscribed channels? Most videos that they now recommend on the front page are videos that I have already watched anyway.
It's just a minor issue though.
