I'm pretty pleased with this year's VGAs, especially how it ripped the top off the downloadable games bias. New games got the lion's share of the praise, not just new installments of the same shooters like in years past. I also loved that a co-op won best online instead of the usual multi-player. That was awesome.
They really broke the perception of being corporate shills for the big boys by going with some original and atypical choices. I didn't think I'd ever say it but kudos to the VGAs.
