I just hope Tom Cruise is credible in the movie.

But the Jack Reacher books are some of the best books of the decade , period ( tied with Millenium) ! Lee Child forever !

had no idea it's a book...might actually check it out

it's a serie by english author Lee Child.

The movie is actually based on the 9th book in the serie but the books are independant from each others.

Jack  Reacher is a vagrant ex MP. And he is one of the most bad ass book character of the decade. The books are very hard to drop once started.
