The long and short of it is that wiiu and vita will be fine. I know it's hard to believebutjust to give an example, psp thrived, well, subsisted on the popularity of games like hatsune miku, and monster hunter. This is nota good way to run a console, and it's very clear just looking at the sales.
Even great games cannot keep a system selling because eventually all the gamers already have it. This is similar to kinects effect on 360. 360 does not really increase in sales anymore when a big game releases, as opposed to that game being released early in the lifetime. Right now, it's kinect and secondary functions, bolstered by the core, which keeps the system going strong.
