I think it's likely the PS4 and/or 360 controller might have a touch pad - like Ouya's or Vita's or possibly a small touch screen in the middle. Something non-intrusive but big enough to get maps off the TV or communicate other info or just be used to suppliment gameplay and for tablet games being ported to XBL/PSN. Could just take over the space where the Xbox logo and start buttons are, maybe extending outward and upwards a little. Those lost buttons would become virtual on the touch screen.
I don't think it'll be a major feature like it is in WiiU. In fact merely have a small touch screen would screw Nintendo because all 3rd parties would build for Nextbox/PS4 and port to WiiU. So if 720 has a tiny touch screen, whatever they use that for, so will the WiiU port, despite being so much bigger, making WiiU pretty irrelevant to core gamers.
