| archbrix said: People need to be realistic about the magnitude of demand that the Wii enjoyed; it was an anomaly. WiiU (which is said to be shipping in greater numbers than the Wii) shouldn't be relegated to "low demand" yet just because a bunch of eBay/Amazon scalpers aren't profiting from it. Going by that rationale, however: The Wii sold about 3m by the end of 2006 (2,954,781 by Dec 30, according to Vgchartz). Let's see what WiiU has sold by the end of 2012 before we declare that Nintendo may be in trouble. |
Yeah, I think it's unfair to compare Wii U with Wii, since the later was a phenomenon! I say it's much more fair to compare Wii U with PS360, or even better yet, with the PS720. But, to be honest, PS3 could be deemed a failure - but only compared to PS2, and that's a comparison lots of people like to make... So comparing Wii U to Wii is equally unfair as comparing PS3 to PS2.
The interesting comparison will come with the PS720...
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
