GamePad costs $85 to repair. Retail price starting at $99?

Wait. So does this mean that Nintendo covers the cost for the repair, or that we have to pay $85 when things go down south?
Although I'd think with Nintendo's track record, I wouldn't ever need to get my controller replaced... Or so I'm hoping.
