If someone doesn't enjoy Nintendo franchises, then maybe video games aren't the right medium for that person.

Is that so? You sound like a true nintendo fan.

I am a Nintendo fan, and I'm a video game fan.

If if you don't enjoy the classics of a medium then I don't know what to tell you. It's important to understand where video games come from, and to understand that there are some universal qualities that bestow a game with greatness.

The same is true for all media. A true understanding and appreciation of modern music would start with Elvis, the Everly Brothers, Muddy Waters, Buddy Holly, etc. A true understanding and appreciation of modern movies would begin with The Birth of a Nation, Metropolis, It Happened One Night, Citizen Kane, etc. A true understanding and appreciation of literature would begin with Goethe, Shakespeare, Milton, Twain, Bronte, Hawthorne, etc.

I'm sorry, but if you cannot appreciate and enjoy the many different games, genres, and experiences I listed, then you are missing out on a whole lot.

I invite you to disagree with me with some facts, figures, and theories of your own. Or you could just dismiss my points and evaluations because I am a "Nintendo fan."
