Last time I hired someone, I had to go through some 50 or more applications. Many of which were incomplete or so poorly written that I would be putting more effort into responding to them than they put into applying for the job. Why on Earth should I have to waste time telling the 49 other people that we found someone with more experience and/or who seemed like a better personality type for the job when it should be patently obvious that that was the case when they didn't hear back? |
Because it creates an atmosphere of transparency, and allows people to improve themselves
I for one have no damn clue why i'm being passed over for all kinds of work, from 30K+ a year jobs to minimum-wage grunt work. Especially given how well-liked i've been at jobs i've actually had. Which of course feeds a sense of paranoia and a desire to scapegoat anyone.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
