If all you care about is playing the game the regular version is the way to go. I went with the collector's edition because I'm a Sega collector and I know it will be one of those rare gems. If I had the even rarer Genesis edition I'd probably just go with the regular, but since I don't this is my chance to grab a collectable.

It looks like one of the funding options includes the Genesis version, but it's pricey.
