I would also like to add something about my experience: I don't think the guys at te company who handled my case were cruel, or evil, or greedy. I'm sure they felt about as bad for me as they could for any person they don't know.
See it from their point of view - say that they pay for every procedure that they're covering, and the company gets into financial trouble. Almost inevitably, their bosses wil hae to cut the payrol or shrink the workforce to make up for these losses. Who in their department do you think is going to be fired: the guy who was stingy and saved the company hundreds of thousands of dollars, or the guy who promptly paid out on every policy?
