What I've been saying about Halo 3 all along...

Shiny graphics are nice and all but if they hinder gameplay, I'm all for toning down the visuals. I don't need bloom effects covering half my screen to frag some poor bastard and enjoy it.

That's is why I think original Counter Strike is still one of the best FPSs out there. You don't need pretty graphics to know that the person you just headshot is shaking his head at his monitor. I've always thought the Halo series to be overrated.

The original CS will always be, in my eyes, the best multiplayer FPS to grace the Earth.

I just don't have the time to play competitively and be as hardcore about it as I was in college. Console FPS games work better for me now that I'm married. The hardcore commitment isn't expected out of me by my friends and teammates. 

There is no console FPS out there that will give you the same satisfaction from scouting someone in the head as in CS. You are missing out. You should relapse for a little while. I have to warn you though, it's hard to step away from that mouse once you get going again.
