Live is better than PSN, okay? Sure. PSN functions to support the online aspect of games. I couldn't care less for the smaller downloadable games. The only ones I've played are Flower and Limbo (which were fun though).

You can call us delusional all you want but you're the guy in a forum for a console you don't even own arguing about a service you don't even use :)
Also, how on Earth can we not opt out of the service? If I ever get to the point where Live is not worth the money to me, I will simply stop subscribing and use my PS3 for online games. It's not rocket science.

Selective reading isn't helping your case. If you wish to play online, you must pay. Thank you for failing to address any of my points and instead use straw man to dissuade from that, it only furthers my notion.

The fact that there's a discussion going on about an online service for a specific console and you're telling us that pointing out that someone admittedly doesn't own that console or use that service are straw man arguments just speaks volumes about who is truly the delusional one.
If we don't want to pay for Live there are other consoles. So we "must" do nothing. Honestly not seeing what is confusing you here, it's really simple stuff.
