I don't believe that you're correct. Sony first party releases usually stay at full price for a long time, much longer than what you see with third party releases. I was able to sell Killzone 3 and Gran Turismo 5 for $40 each back to Amazon several months after I bought each of them because retail was still at $60. The price drops are usually gradual, as well, falling to $39 and $29 before hitting $19 much later on the re-release.
