no by end of 2nd Quarter 2013 if their 10.2 million can be shipped for the 4th Quarter 2012 than by the end of 1st Quarter 2013 they will have had profit. they will not know yet because they are using about 60%production of units from china so they will not know until after 4th Quarter.

currently their really about 1 Sales Quarter from Profit as it stands right after the 3rd Quarter results.

no it just means we will not know the outcome until after the 4th Quarter results. remember their is cutting of 2000 workers and moving their HQ to japan, that is an expense for the Sony Mobile department. It does not mean outright they will not make a profit, it pretty much means they right now expect profit within this 4th Quarter or the end of Quarter 1 2013. barring complications profit will be seen end of 2nd Quarter at the latest as long as they can get the units from Foxconn.

Sony Mobile beat their projection and is expected to increase to 10.2 million /sales Quarter if infact Sony does this in 4th Quarter 2012 they will have made profit. but they are having to count on foxconn shipping the ammount for their demand. right now Foxconn is providing quite a number of ODM's smartphone production's right now, if it slips in quarter shipments Sony may not be able to until the next Quarter sales shipments get put out.
