Im not sure if this is true but i've read that Gameboy sales started to decline around 1992/93 until Pokemon came out. What if Nintendo released Gameboy Color around 94/95 to boost sales? In this scenario i think original GB sales would have topped out around 40-50 million and GBC sales would have reach 60-70 million, so the overall sales wouldnt be much different.
