If you say there aren't any games you want, then I do believe you, because that depends on the person. Don't buy a console when there are no games you want on it. But I feel there is a good representation of a number of genres on the console. For me personally, I like a little big of everything and Vita seems good for this: platformers (LittleBigPlanet, Rayman Origins); racing games (WipEout 2048, Need for Speed: Most Wanted); action-adventure games (Gravity Rush; Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation); shooters (Uncharted: Golden Abyss; Unit 13). The only genre I feel is under-represented for the time being is JRPG's, which is a big deal, but Persona 4 in March will do for now :) The kicker for me was PSP compatibility. I didn't own a PSP, so having a library-full of those games on PSN compatible with dual analogue and on the OLED screen convinced me of a sale. I knew anything that I felt was missing (such as JRPG's) I could just fill with stuff from last gen. Obviously, this wouldn't work for a person who owned a PSP. But just a little food for thought. edit: Oh and when Sony announced cross-buy of games I was already planning on buying (Ratchet & Clank; Sly Cooper; Playstation All-Stars), that was just another reason for me to buy. |
Pretty much every kind of game excluding most JRPG's and RTS. Every other genre I'm good with.
