| CGI-Quality said: Just so we're clear, you aren't that much older than some of us. And in New York, where I'm from, we still have arcades in our basement. But all that really is irrelevant. Many older people I know, yep, older than you, have been gaming on PCs before consoles even became the "it" thing to have. For me, consoles offer convenience, but since my career is based around a computer, and I game a lot, things became much more convenient with a gaming rig. I weighed more than just cost - value, fun factor, controls, price of games, tools, and convenience. When I realized I could build a rig, the rest was history. In short, I will always game on consoles, but it will never again be without a gaming PC - this all while growing up during the height of the arcade era. |
I am of the opposite mentality. I got tired of the endless upgrade cycle associated with PC gaming.
I have put together my own computers as well, I got tired of that too. I don't mind upgrading a PC, but I much prefer to buy one with a warranty attached to it first. I'm more about getting value out of a PC rather than sinking money into one.
